Why You so Clamy Pizza
Look for a something a little different, try this new England clam pizza that will have you craving seconds.
2 dozen clams cooked and shelled
2 oz clam juice
3 tbsp of parmeasan cheese shredded
Oregano (1/2 tsp)
Dash of Kosher salt
2 tbsp minced garlic
½ cup of bacon crumbles
8 oz of Ricotta cheese
8 oz shredded mozzarella
Before starting you need to cook your clams and remove the meat from the shell. I have seen them with the shell left on and placed on the pizza but for me that is too much work, however, you do what you feel like. I like to use them as decorative garnishes if I am having company over.
Combine ricotta cheese, clam juice, Parmeason cheese, oregano, and salt into large bowl. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy, if it seems rather dry add a little more juice to the mix or a touch of water. Place in fridge.
Pre-heat your pizza stone to 500º F for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile prepare your crust. I like to use a cauliflower crust with this pie. Smooth your cheese mixture over the crust evenly covering the pizza from edge to edge. Top with the remaining ingredients sprinkling the cheese on last.
Heat for 12 - 15 minutes depending on your oven the cheese will bubble and brown when ready. Allow your pizza to rest for about 6-7 minutes before serving. Enjoy the taste of New England’s best pies right at home anywhere you go!
