I know a bunch of people who are vegetarians or vegans and have a hard time during the holidays due to all the meat consumed as a main dish. Here is a recipe that is just for you and easy to assemble! Now if you are invited to a thanksgiving dinner you can bring your own dough and just use the ingredients without meat in them. However, make sure you ask before using anything, there are a lot of families that put meat into the veggies 'for taste.' You can also request that you have your own veggies without meat.
Making your own vegan pizza at home is another option too. This pizza is meant to make Thanksgiving a day for everyone to get fat and happy!
Ingredients:
1 dough ball formed into crust
1 1/2 c mash potato
1/2 c green beans 1/2 c corn 1/2 c carrots 1/2 c squash OR 2 cups of mixed vegetables
4 oz of Tofurky slices
1 1/2 c stuffing
2 c gravy
cranberry sauce
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 450ºF. I prefer to use a deep dish pan for this recipe and pie cutter, if you do not have either you can use a cast iron pan. If you do not have a cast iron then be aware of how high your pizza gets. It could get messy; which is okay because it still taste good.
Have your dough pressed out in your cast iron or in your pizza pan then add a layer of stuffing to the bottom.
Next take your mash potatoes and layer then on top it off with 1/2 cup of gravy. Next arrange your Tofurky all over the pizza, evenly pour the remaining gravy, and then finish with all your veggies.
Bake for 10 minutes and serve hot. Use more gravy for dipping and top with a little cranberry sauce for the perfect Thanksgiving meal.
