Normally pizza is oven-baked, but it can be made on the grill.
It’s nice to change it up and the grill can make your favorite pie even better.
It adds wonderful flavor to the crust and keeps you from turning on the oven during the summer. Here are some tips that will help you make a great grilled pizza.
Roll the crust a little thicker than usual. This will keep the crust from burning as it cooks.
Brush the dough lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
Cook on one side and then remove from the grill. Add your toppings to the side you just grilled and then return to the grill. Spread the sauce evenly on the bottom of the crust to ensure even heating.
Make sure you use shredded or thinly sliced cheese so that it will melt quickly.
You also want your toppings thinly sliced so they heat fully. It is even better to have all of the toppings already cooked so that they are just being reheated on the grill.
Cover the pizza and wait for the cheese to melt.
