As the weather gets colder it's time to heat things up and what better way to do that then spicy pizza dough! I adapted this recipe from a different recipe that I found online, it calls for a bread machine but again it's adapted to my liking; both recipes are amazing! I do think that this one has a bit more of a kick to it so beware.
Ingredients:
1 c warm water
2 tablespoons of red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon of basil
1/2 tablespoon of oregano
1/2 tablespoon of onion powder
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 1/2 tablespoons of bread machine yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
2 1/2 c of white flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 1/2 tablespoon margarine
1 teaspoon of hot sauce (Franks)
1/2 tablespoon of diced Jalapeno peppers
1 metal bowl (if not using bread machine)
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 250ºF or use bread machine. If you are using a bread machine just dump all ingredients into bread machine and skip next section.
Mix yeast, warm water, and salt together and stir together. Add in all spices, hot sauce, and slowly add in flour. Once a dough ball starts to form put into metal bowl and place in oven and shut the oven off. Let the dough stand until it has doubled in size. Check it every thirty minutes; it should take about an hour and a half tops.
Remove from heat and cover with a clean kitchen towel for an hour. After the hour has passed knead your dough four about five minutes. Do not over knead, as you do not want to loose the elasticity of your dough. Split in half and it should make two medium sized pizzas.
