Not only does this pizza dough look amazing because of the red color of the beets, it is also going to blow your tastes buds away! Be ahead of the crowd and jump on the beet wagon with this delicious recipe that will make you want to eat the entire pie!
Ingredients:
Active dry yeast (1 package)
1 1/2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 cups of unbleached flour for bread
1/2 cup of beets pureed
3 tablespoons of agave nectar
1 cup of warm water
Directions:
In a large bowl mix the water and the yeast package together and stir with a fork. It should start to foam a bit. Let the mixture rest for about 7 minutes. Once it has rested, slowly stir in your agave nectar, olive oil, and beet puree. Mix slowly for about 5 minutes.
In a separate bowl use a whisk to loosen the flour. Slowly pour in your wet ingredients and mix it together until it starts to form into a dough.
Press dough out and shape as you would any other dough. Keep in mind that this is not regular dough so it will be a little more difficult to shape. This pizza sure isn't pretty but is sure is tasty!
