For many years, Domino's and Papa John's have been running a close race as far as popularity with pizza consumers across the nation and not far behind is Pizza Hut. The reason for this, as stated in this Forbes article, is the rise in the two chains, Domino's and Papa John's pushing through today's digital way of living. It is so easy to just go onto an app on your phone, customize your order and have your favorite pizza chain deliver your hot and ready pizza. In the case of Pizza Hut, keeping up with digital trends and digital presence has not been so strong. This year, it has changed for Pizza Hut. They are getting back into the game and playing hard ball. With Papa John's breaking its ties with the NFL due to the controvery over players taking the knee and Papa John's wanting nothing to do with it, the NFL is available for sponsorship and Pizza Hut found its way in. Pizza Hut is said to be going into sponsorship with the NFL and with the combination of game days where Pizza Hut will be in front of millions of fans, it is game on. Just like the former, Domino's and just recently Papa John's taking advantage of the opportunity to work with the NFL, Pizza Hut is doing the same. With how recent events played out with Papa John's, this may have been the big break they were needing to get back into the scene and back into people's households as the pizza chain to go to for netflix and chill and the most popular NFL game days.
For many restaurant owners, this may be something to consider when trying to amp the amount of people to notice your incredible pizzaria. Placing billboard ads, placing ads in the newspapers, or print magazines may have worked in the past, but with today's day and age, most consumers are on the line (online). That is where you will find most if not all of your potential consumers. Take advantage.
Keep pushing forward, Pizza Hut is and its taking the bull by the horns.
