Sexual harassment in Hollywood may have been the biggest push that the #MeToo movement needed to bring more spotlight on one of the nation’s biggest issues, sexual harassment in the workplace. Sexual harassment has been a very important issue many business owners, restaurant owners, just about every kind of industry has experienced some kind of sexual harassment cases. Some can be from verbal abuse, to unwanted touching, to forced sexual actions. How does the National Restaurant Association choose to deal with this big issue?
The National Restaurant Association starting this summer is making available ServSafe webinars that revolve around sexual harassment prevention and free at that, for the restaurant industry. Based on this PizzaMarketPlace online article they mention NRA Executive Vice President of Training and Certification Sherman Brown as stating, “ServSafe Workplace is poised to become a comprehensive suite of training programs that equips employees and managers with the information they need to help manage emerging risks and advance the positive culture of the foodservice and hospitality industries.”
This new series of training programs offered free for the restaurant industry may be an amazing movement that allows people who may have been victims in recent restaurant positions to feel comfortable taking on another position in the restaurant industry.
