INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WISH) - The FBI just ended an undercover investigation after a series of pizza delivery robberies. Some of these happened on the 2100 block of North Arlington Street in Indiana.
Federal agents set up the undercover sting operation on Tuesday. On that particular day, the Dominos Pizza on North Arlington received a call for a delivery from the exact phone number where a pizza driver was robbed the week before.
When undercover agents arrived on the scene they found a 16-year-old boy standing outside with a silver hammer. Investigators arrested the teen and found an Incredible Hulk Mask and a cell phone that was tied to the previous robbery.
“That’s very good security, that’s very good safety, I feel like they have been doing that a long time ago,” said Giorgio Migliaccio owner of Giorgio’s Pizza.
24-Hour News 8 learned that the FBI involves themselves in these types of undercover operations as part of their Safer Streets Task Force. The program is designed to stop threats and violence in communities across the city.
The task force is made up of federal agents and police officers from all different departments in the city.
Migliaccio adds that his workers have not been robbed. He also adds that his delivery drivers drive within a three mile radius downtown. They mostly deliver to hotels and businesses.
As far as the teenage suspect, police have not determined if he may have been working alone while committing this crime.
